 | | The Fine Arts Center Theatre Company is holding adult (16+) auditions for the 2010/2011 Season.
All positions are paid. At this time all roles are available. Out of town actors as well as members of Actors Equity Association are welcome to audition. We do offer a limited number of Equity Guest Artist Tier II contracts. The Fine Arts Center does not believe in discrimination based on color, race, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, disabilities, gender, or otherwise. All performers, including those of color, seniors, women, and performers with disabilities are encouraged to audition and will be given full consideration.
Auditions will be held in the Music Room of the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center on Saturday, July 31, from 10-6 p.m. by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, please call 719-477-4387 and leave a message stating your name and contact phone number.
There will also be a dance call on Sunday, August 1.
Auditions for children (for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat only) will be held in September.
Those interested in auditioning should prepare 16-32 bars of a standard or contemporary musical theatre song as well as one monologue of your choice, not to exceed two minutes in length. Auditioners should also bring a headshot, resume, and sheet music in their key. The use of boom boxes will not be allowed. (Actors who are not interested in being considered for the musicals only need to prepare the monologue.)

Looking for strong singers, actors, and dancers, ages 16 and up and all ethnic backgrounds for multiple roles in UCDT’s upcoming holiday production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. All roles are currently available. This production will be directed by Bryan Bell, with choreography by Bryan Bell and Jessica Hindsley, with music direction by Jalyn Courtnay Webb. All roles at the UCDT are non- equity. All roles are paid.

 | | Red Ranger Came Calling - A Guaranteed True Christmas Story by Berkeley Breathed
Regional Premiere
In this musical retelling of the story his late father related every Christmas Eve, Berkeley Breathed introduces a cynical boy (self-named The Red Ranger of Mars) who meets his match in a retired Santa. On Christmas morning, in the soggy Pacific Northwest, hoping against hope for a Buck Tweed bicycle, Red finds instead a treasure unlooked for, within himself. While Breathed, author/artist of the cartoon strip "Bloom County," often winks at the adults in the audience, this fabulous tale will fascinate children of all ages.

Based on the hit movie, The Wedding Singer celebrates the 80’s in earnest. It’s 1985 and rock-star wannabe Robbie Hart is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer. He’s the life of the party - until his fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie ends up making every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a sympathetic waitress who unknowingly wins his affection. But Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and unless Robbie can pull off the performance of the decade, the girl of his dreams will remain nothing more than a dream.

 | | The Community College of Aurora is holding Auditions for Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. The production will be performed by both deaf and hearing actors. We are looking to cast the following roles from within the deaf community:
Juliet (Deaf Female, Strong ASL, Age 16 - 25)
Various Ensemble Members (Deaf Males or Females, Strong ASL, Any Age)
The production will begin rehearsing on September 7. Afternoons and/or evenings weekly, some Saturdays. The performances will be November 11-13 and November 18 - 20. All experience levels are encouraged to audition.
Rehearsals and Performances will be held at the Larry D. Carter Theatre - Community College of Aurora - 16000 E. Centretech Parkway, Aurora, CO 80011.
The play will explore cultural themes between the deaf communities and hearing communities, with the Montague's representing the hearing community and the Capulet's representing the deaf community. The entire production will be both ASL shadow and voice interpreted, and will explore new and unique ways to make the play universal for both deaf and hearing audiences.
Auditions are by appointment and will be held in late July or early August.

PARKER ARTS COUNCIL announces auditions for “Dearly Departed”, a riotous, drop dead comedy by David Bottrell and Jessie Jones, Thursday July 29th at 7 P.M., with callbacks and any additional auditions August 1st at 2 P.M. There are roles for 6 women and 4 men, in a variety of age ranges, some double casting.
There will be cold readings from the script, and you will be given time to prepare. A prepared comedic monologue is optional. The play involves a dysfunctional group of eccentric misfits gathered in the Baptist backwoods somewhere below the Mason-Dixon line. A rural southern accent will be required.
Auditions will be held at Victorian Peaks, a blue and tan Victorian building at 11020 Pikes Peak Drive, off Mainstreet in Parker, CO. (Turn east off Parker Road onto Mainstreet, go to next light and turn right, building one block up on corner.)

Theatre-Hikes CO will be holding auditions for Dracula: The Death of Nosferatu on Saturday August 7th from 12-4pm at the West Colfax Events Center in Lakewood.
